“ The food, service, and ambiance all great! Valentine's Day dinner was a treat! This was our first visit and we enjoyed it very much! Jenny, our server was very good at helping us make food choices, knew her wines, and made a great recommendation. She also took our orders correctly. Well done! ”
“ Only gets a four star because the main waitress there could not be more miserable and rude. She clearly hates her job to the point of making the process feel uncomfortable. There are plenty of happy people that can be hired than a woman that needs to work anywhere that doesn't involve customer service. We still go frequently but our smiles drop everytime we see her. ”
“ We arrived at 4 PM- maybe 1st customer for dinner(they open at 3:30). Despite being the only customers in the restaurant our drinks took quite some time to arrive. They were delicious & well -crafted when we got them however. Service was lackluster & slow, but not rude. Appetizer was the broiled oysters, delicious and fresh. We ordered the tomahawk steak (165.00) and the beef tenderloin. Hands down the tenderloin was far better than the tomahawk! The tomahawk was oddly lacking in flavor & chewy (ordered med-rare). There was a lot of fat as well. The tenderloin, on the other hand was exquisite- perfect crust with lovely sauce and melt-in-your-mouth texture. All of the sides were very good & paired well with the main. I would go back, but never order the tomahawk steak- much better offerings on the menu at reasonable prices. A more experienced/seasoned staff would improve the dining experience as well. Overall I recommend this restaurant! The vibe in Springfield is less hectic than Eugene so it's nice change of pace. ”
“ Okay, so my wife and I have gone to the Tavern a few times in the past couple of years. They normally ALWAYS come through with the flavors. Oysters were spot on. The smash burger was hu-maze-ing! If you order steak, just try to REALLY emphasize to your server that you don't want the steak to still have a pulse when they bring it out. Other than a REALLY rare steak, which they offered to fix right away, it was a banger of a meal. As the kids would say, "on God, this place is bussin'... no cap". Thanks for the impeccable service, team! ”
“ Lunch for 2 Red IPA (2). Caesar salad. Beef carpaccio. Mushroom truffle flatbread with chorizo. And a slice of cheesecake with a berry drizzle. Gawd... The photo doesn't do it justice. ”
“ Atmosphere is awesome, great place for a date or nice dinner. Smaller menu and die well. Not the cheapest place and sometimes that's a good thing. Service was top notch. ”
“ You know how it is usually the pretzel or the cheese....but never both....well we got the holy grail of pretzels and beer cheese at the Tavern on Main in Springfield....rumor is they are removing it...so run over there now! We also had the wedge salad with steak (excellent) and the peach drink with bourbon...also great. I had red wine which was a perfect addition to the meal. Service and atmosphere are top notch. ”
“ Decided to come here for dinner, first time with friends. Glad we had reservations as when we got here, it was super busy! Enjoyed the interior and art deco theme. Fun place for downtown Springfield. I enjoyed my Steak Frites. Everyone else had a Smash burger which they enjoyed. We also enjoyed the charcuterie, very tasty. The drink menu is a lot of fun, with some great options. I enjoyed trying their cocktails and the cute glasses they served them in. They did have a dessert menu but since we were all full, we opted out. Will go back for sure! Enjoyed this little piece of downtown Springfield. Fun to see nightlife come alive here. ”
